Installing Fonts in Windows
Your version of Windows may install the font automatically. From Windows Explorer, open the ZIP file and drag the .ttf files from the ZIP file into the c:\windows\fonts or c:\winnt\fonts folder (whichever applies to your system).Windows will automatically install the fonts dragged into the Fonts folder.
If that does not work:
- Choose Start, select Settings, select Control Panel
Note: In Windows XP, choose Start > Control Panel
- Double-click the Fonts folder.
- Click on "File" or <Alt-F>and when the popdown appears select "Install New Fonts" or "Add fonts".
- Locate the fonts you want to install.
Select the drive and the folder containing the fonts to be installed.
In the Folders list, select a folder that contains the fonts you want to install. (Make sure you have unzipped them first.) The fonts in the folder appear under List of Fonts.
To select more than one font, hold down the CTRL key and click each font.
- To copy the fonts to the Fonts folder, make sure the Copy fonts to the Fonts folder check box is selected.
- Click OK to install the fonts. Restart your computer.

Apply Photoshop Styles
Here's how to apply the effect to your own text or to any shape that you have made in Photoshop. It's simple. You'll select the effect from the downloaded file and paste it onto your own type.
Here's what to do...
Open a new Photoshop file and type the text that you want to use in the font of your choice, and at the size you would like.
You'll note that the type you just made is on a separate layer from the background. You can see this in the "Layers" pallet.
If the "Layers" pallet is not open, you can show it by selecting "Layers" from the "Window" menu of Photoshop.
Open the file that you've downloaded from our site. This file is really just a Photoshop file that has an effect placed on a layer that contains type or art.
Next you'll copy the effect from this layer (I'll tell you how in a second), and paste the effect onto your own type or art.
Here's how to copy the effect.
From the Photoshop file you've downloaded, in the "Layers" pallet, you'll click to select the layer that has the art (and the effect). The right hand side of this layer has a black circle with the letter "f" in it.
On top of your screen, under the main Photoshop menu "Layer", select "Layer Style" - and from the sub menu select "Copy Layer Style".
Go to your artwork and select the type layer you've just made. With that layer selected, you would go to the Photoshop menu "Layer", select "Layer Style" - and from the sub menu select "Paste Layer Style".
You text should now show the effect.
If you've made VERY large text, you may have to scale the effect larger to make it look like the small download sample.
Under the main Photoshop menu "Layer", select "Layer Style" - and from the sub menu select "Scale Effects ...". Moving the slider to a larger number will scale the effect for a larger piece of art.
This effect can be used with any type, brush strokes, lines or with any shapes created with the shape tool (as our samples show) as long as it is drawn on a separate layer.
Some effects look better on thick letters and art and some effects look better with thin letters and art.
Experiment, it's fun.
